As per the report, Google says that beauty filters are bad for your mental health. Most smartphones are offered beauty filters. But from now, google pixel mobile would not use beauty filters default.
There are many mobile phones that have offered some kind of ‘beauty filters’ for quite a long time, which smooth out pimples, spots, wrinkles, and different subtleties in your face.
According to some studies that show such beauty filters can negatively affect emotional wellness, mental health in different aspects and thus, this is why Google is currently turning them off as a matter of course on its own pixel phones and urging other OEMs to do likewise. recently Google has done its annual Google hardware Event 2020 in which they launched some pixel phone, hope they will switch off beauty filters by default.
Google said, “We set out to better understand the effect filtered selfies might have on people’s wellbeing,” In a blog post of Google they wrote, “especially when filters are on by default. We conducted multiple studies and spoke with the child and mental health experts from around the world, and found that when you’re not aware that a camera or photo app has applied a filter, the photos can negatively impact mental wellbeing. These default filters can quietly set a beauty standard that some people compare themselves against.”
