Amazon India: Recruiting Former Military Personnel

Amazon is a big multinational  Company based in Seattle, Washington... It is mainly focused on E-Commerce, Cloud Computing, Digital Streaming, and Artificial Intelligence. It is considered in one of the big companies Google, Facebook, and Apple.



Currently, 17 countries have the Prime membership with the Amazon. India is in one of the countries where amazon operated their business. Recently Amazon opened their largest office building in south India Hyderabad. It is spread over an area of 9.5 acres and comprises of three million square feet of built-up area. It has a capacity of 15000 employees for now, eventually, in future the area will increase. Amazon India has almost 50 fulfillment centers and 200 delivery centers.




Amazon is very quickly raising their business in India as compared to other company.  Amazon India will be going to start military veterans employment programme in partnership with the Office of the Director-General of Resettlement (DGR) and the Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO),
Under this program,  Amazon India will be going to provide a job for Ex-Servicemen and Former Military Personnel in their fulfillment, delivery and sortation centers. 

“Over the years, we have hired military veterans into various roles across the company – in transportation, customer fulfillment, facilities management, and security operations, to name a few. This program formalizes our efforts and will help create hundreds of career opportunities for military families who have served the country,” said Akhil Saxena, vice president – Asia operations, Amazon.

 Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo both already start this initiative in the country.  Although the company has not declared the date to start this programme and how much they will be going to hire.
